10 Year Celebration

Leesport, PA — September 2007 — Hawk Mountain Papers, an archival inkjet paper manufacturer (http://www.hawkmtpaper.com), today announced the celebration of 10 years in business.
Since 1997, Hawk Mountain Papers has evolved from a small converting operation, offering non coated art papers to industrious artists wanting to recreate their own works, to a thriving business with an international scope, offering a comprehensive product line, including inkjet coated, mould made, double sided, cotton, and high alpha-cellulose papers, photo realistic, and canvas. They sell direct and through distribution.

"What started out 10 years ago, in our basement, has far exceeding anyone's expectations," said Diana York, Hawk Mountain's President. "We are all very proud of this accomplishment and grateful to our customers, employees, trade magazines, and online forums, and blogs who helped get us here."

Four entrepreneurs founded hawk Mountain Papers in the fall of 1997: Diana York, George Coon, Dan Blevins, and Mike Richards. Each member brought their own unique talent to the table: Diana York, business management, George Coon sales and marketing savvy, and Dan and Mike, technical & product expertise between them both totaling 60 years in the chemical and paper industry.

The inkjet paper business has evolved quite a bit over the past 10 years, "We have grown with the industry. It has been challenging to keep up with the technology but we attribute our relative small business size/model to our success in adapting to what our customers want and need." said Amy Lemelin, Hawk Mountain's Sales and Marketing Representative.

Hawk Mountain Papers has been called, "The best kept secret" in the archival inkjet market. Smaller in scale than some of it's competition, you would be hard pressed to find better quality at their prices anywhere. "Because we run tight ship, we are efficient and we keep everything in house and do everything from marketing to shipping ourselves. We are able to put more resources into researching and creating such papers as our award winning Condor Bright White." Said George Coon. Condor Bright White is a 20mil, double sided, archival, cotton with a smooth side and a slightly textured side.

"When you call Hawk Mountain Papers, you get a real person to talk to. We pride ourselves in our customer service. Customers don't get caught up in forms and loopholes. We offer free custom profiles for our customers. We want our customers to get the best possible color with our paper and feel that charging for our profiles just does not make sense."

"We have a very loyal following of customers. Keeping in touch with our customer base, we have also been able to anticipate their needs and grow with their businesses. That's one of the major reasons why we have been so successful." Said Diana York. Hawk Mountain Papers holds a print contest every year and has given away thousands of dollars in paper prizes. They interview each of the contest winners in their monthly newsletter as a way to continually educate their customers.

"We like what we do, we adore our customers and we look forward to the next 10 years."
